IT Components of the selected Information System

What is the hardware, software, telecommunication networks involved in the system?

Hardware

-Data Centre in Bukit Aman and police headquarters identified. In addition, the supplier also has provided an additional item increases the quantity and improvement in the specifications.

Software

-is already installed on appropriate hardware to enable applications involved in operation.

Preparation (installation of LAN)

The business process of the Information System

How does the business function of the organization is supported by the system?

With a total number of narcotics cases was increased, so a huge database is necessary. Through this SPIN, information storage in the database allows officers and detectives get information on-line (24 x 7) at any location that has line to the RMP data center. This method can reduce the manual information storage that requires physically administration.

Diablo III

Decided to buy Diablo III after playing the free starter edition. Was looking for it since last week, but it seems that all of the shops that I went needs restock.

I’ve never been a hardcore gamer. I play games when I feel like it, and often, there is a big gap between the intervals that I feel like playing one.

So buying a game that requires a time based subscription like World Of Warcraft is going to be a money waster.

So the reason of I’m buying Diablo III because it is one time purchase. Then you can play at any time with your own face without the worry of time expiry.

I still remember back then when I first play MMORPG game – Ragnarok – at the beginning of the game, there is a series of personality questions that will determine what type of class that is suitable for me.

After asking those questions, I have been recommended an Archer class. I guess they research well for that, and Archer class seems to be matching with my personality, and it suits me well.

So for Diablo III, I’m going for Demon Hunter class, and again, I feel so comfortable with this.

Sistem Pengurusan Informasi Narkotik (SPIN)

What are their functions?

a) Create management information electronically with the storage of information in the database.

b) Allows analysis of computerized information made by users. 

What types of IS it is?

Management Information System

Who are its end-users and owners?

Users - Officers and 'Rank and File' (Special-served in the Narcotics Department)

Owner – PDRM (Government)

Who provide the technical support to maintain it?

Staff in IT Department and vendors.

MIS - Week 5

 After a long ‘the tarik’ with my teammates, En. Sheikh Amir, we have decided not to pursue this assignment with the QSR Brands system. This is because Mr. Hazri a.k.a Jack was outstation to Korea for about a month. Therefore, it is difficult for us to collect information about the 'HR Portal' (a system that Jack introduced). 

In this regard, we have been interested to know a system used by the Narcotics Department of Royal Malaysian Police. This system is known as SPIN or its full name “Sistem Pengurusan Maklumat Narkotik". 

A meeting was arranged with Inspector Azizudeen from Narcotics Department, Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur. Towards the discussion, we are enabling to gather much information towards this system. 

FYI, this system is used by the Narcotics Department only which involves all suspects who has been arrested related to drugs. All personal details such as name, identification card number, and address will be saved. In addition, suspect's photo and their fingerprints also will be stored in this system. 

All officers who have access can view the list of the suspect as well as to comment on the information displayed. We are very excited with the description given. I will upload everything related to SPIN at the next entry.

PS4

 Me and my luvely wife went to Tropicana City Mall for a while. Since I have got nothing to do today, and just finish Accounting Class, so just went there for window shopping. First stop is Best Denki, just feasting my eyes with the latest electronics gadgets.

 

Browsing through the shelves, I saw on old original PSP games selling at RM10. Well, this is a might get thing. While I’m doing a payment at the counter, the cashier told me that this used to be priced at RM159, until Sony Malaysia asked them to price it at RM10 to clear the stock.

Well, this is my first ever UMD PSP game. All this while I was just downloading ISO files for my PSP. Well, the topic itself is not suitable to be discussed further

Well, this is not my very first intention of visiting Tropicana City Mall today, and also not the main story for this blog post. My main intention is to check of whether Gamers Hideout outlets here still have any left over PS4 from their PS4 restock.

Well, PS4 is still kind of out of stock everywhere in Malaysia, even Sony Centers themselves. The one that I plan to get is the PS4 with PS Camera bundle. Upon asking Gamers Hideout, surprisingly they will have a few units left. But when asking for the price, they told me it is RM1999, which is RM100 more than what Sony Malaysia price during the PS4 debut last December. 

 The security tag is still intact, and there is no sign that this box has been tempered before. So that makes me confident to buy it even it is the last unit available

 

I didn’t get any games yet today. I guess I will need to think it over thoroughly first of what first PS4 game that I will buy. It’s going to be a big investment (PS4 game costing between RM179 to RM199). So just want to get the right game that I’d like to play for my first game, and I have Knack or Assassin’s Creed or Tomb Raider in mind.

 

Not just only games, I have been craving for the accessories as well. First of being the second unit of the controller. The second thing that I want to get is Sony’s official DUALSHOCK 4 Charching Station. From my PS3 era last time, charging the controller using USB cable connected to the console is such a hassle. The controller cannot be charged using the normal USB charger, like iPhone USB charger.

 

From what I read, it requires some special handshake signal before the controller can be charged which is missing from normal USB charger. Last time, I just charge my PS3 controller by connecting it to PC’s USB port.
